Server Upgrades and Economy Update
Hey, everyone! The full network has been brought back online and is ready to be played! While that one sentence consists of the bulk of this announcement's intention, I still want to take the time to thank you all for your patience and support.
As our community has grown, it's become increasingly more important that the server grows along with it. Our last hardware upgrade was way back at the start of the new year, and we've been on the same set-up ever since. While this rig has performed very well (especially considering the mess that was 1.14), it didn't leave us with much room to expand. However, thanks to all of your support, we were once again able to upgrade the server hardware. With over twice as much storage, memory, and CPU power as we had before, we can now consider adding new game servers and features to the network, all while providing a lag-free experience! Now, before I end off this announcement, there are a few caveats to the upgrade and transfer process I must mention.
Firstly, don't worry. All world and player data have successfully transferred over. However, the process of switching hosts isn't as simple as copying and pasting files, and we've had to make a couple of adjustments to the way the server stores data; this means that, for the time being, Dynmap is unavailable. I'll be working on restoring the map following this update but, with everything else on the server working without issue, it's not fair to postpone opening the server due to this issue.
To those of you who play on the Creative server, following this move, you may notice that there are a few plots that have "unknown" owners. Aside from being a minor annoyance, this does not affect plot ownership. Once the owner of a plot logs into the Creative server, their plots will be updated with their proper username. This issue is not strictly related to the upgrade, but I wanted to mention it here to prevent confusion.
Finally, I'd like to give an update on the Economy update (so many "updates"!). The long-awaited Economy update will be releasing soon, and with that, we want your feedback! Much work has gone into this update, and we want to make sure it's enjoyable for everyone. Your responses will help us keep everything balanced, engaging, and, more importantly, fun!
