The chat plugin is a key feature of Prism Party, allowing players to engage with each others in an improved way with more expression. While not one plugin per se, but rather a mix of multiple plugins intervowen, it still acts as a seperate entity from other plugins. Read more about the most important features below!

Party Chat[edit]

Party chat is a chat plugin feature enabling players to make private channels for them to talk in. It allows members to share experience and items, as well as teleportation to other members. Only a party leader can change features of a party, such as its name and members. Below are commands for party leaders to use:

Command Explanation
party accept Accepts an incoming request to join a party.
party alliance <name> Sends an alliance request to the chosen party.
party chat Switches to the party chat. Repeat to return to global chat.
party create <name> Creates a party.
party disband Disbands a party.
party help Lists all party commands.
party info Lists all relevant party info, such as members and sharing settings.
party invite <playername> Invites a chosen player.
party itemshare <category> <mode> Enables/disables itemshare for the chosen category.
party join <playername> Sends a join request to the chosen player.
party kick <playername> Kicks a chosen player from the party.
party lock <mode> Locks the party, turning joining into request-only.
party owner <playername> Sets the party owner to a chosen player.
party password <password> Sets the party joining password or resets it if set to clear / reset.
party quit Makes the player leave the party.
party rename <name> Sets the party name to a chosen new name.
party teleport <mode> Enables/disables party teleportation for party members.
party unlock Unlocks the party, turning joining into auto-accept.
party xpshare <mode> Enables/disables xpshare for party members.

Whispering[edit]

Is there something you want to say to just one specific person? No problem at all! Whispers allow players to interact with each other on a private level by using the /whisper <username> (also known as /msg <username>) and /reply <username> commands, which can be found at the Essentials page in more detail.

Important notice: While Staff respects the privacy of players and does not read whispers, you are still bound to the server rules and whispers can be accessed in case of a server rule breach. Do not use whispers for rule-breaking purposes.

Discord Messaging[edit]

Want to interact with other players but do not want to log on Minecraft to get on Prism? That is not a problem on Prism Party! Members of the Discord [1] can use the chat channels to interact with online players. Each Prism Party server has its own chat channel, and messages between them do not transfer (E.g. someone in the Creative server can not see a Discord user typing in #Survival).

Name Colouring and Formatting[edit]

With the plugin comes the ability to change the colour and format of one's usernames and their respective chat messages. These colours and formats can be chosen from a group of preset colours, but also be set to any hex value (E.g. #000000) and be set in bold, underlined, strikethrough and italics. For this, the /nickname and /chatcolor commands are used, found on the Essentials page in more detail. We recommend the use of Birdflop to set these as it is one simple system.

Item Name Displaying[edit]

Ever wanted to show an item to a fellow player, as well as it's statistics and name, but without actually giving them the item? This is the perfect solution! By holding an item in one's main hand and saying [item] at the desired place in a message, the item's name as well as its formatting and colour will show. Hovering over the name will show all statistics of said tool and/or block.

Relevant plugins[edit]

Despite the fact that these plugins have their own respective pages, they are still relevant to the chat plugin system as a whole. You can find them below:
