Background and Inspiration[edit]

At Prism Party, we encourage creativity in a safe environment. This Mapart station follows this ideal by offering our community a way to express their creativity easily and without too much of a hassle. I, Rhyol, came up this idea after seeing the vast amount of creativity during the Christmas event of 2022, and I wanted to see more of this creativity from my fellow Prismers.

General Information[edit]

The Player Warp Mapart is a station for creating mapart, as the name suggests. It offers its users 2 panels, a display gallery and a great amount of resources to help you make your work a success! At this station, we primarily work with carpets, as they are easy to clean up, but we also welcome the use of other blocks to make your work even more detailed.

Guidelines:[edit]

In order to get your mapart right and on our wall/in our shop, it is important you follow these steps and rules:

Guide:[edit]
  1. Make sure you got a map, bucket of water and a glass pane. If building with other materials than just carpet, please notify Rhyol beforehand.
  2. Make your mapart. Choose one of the two panels and get to work. We recommend you use Rebane2006, which can be found at the bottom of this page.
  3. Map your mapart and lock it with your glass pane in the cartography table. You risk losing your art if you do not do this.
  4. Deposit your mapart in the hopper. If you want it to be for sale, leave a note so that we know that sold copies are not stolen from our gallery.
Rules:[edit]
  1. Server rules apply. Use /rules in the game to read them.
  2. We do not accept any form of theft. We will report you to staff, putting the verdict in their hands. If you want to borrow something, just ask Rhyol or el_o_l, we are quite lenient if you are a reputable player.
  3. Copyright applies. Although we will not take you to court, we will notify the copyright owner and possible staff.
  4. In any way destroying someone else's art without their permission is considered griefing under the server rules. We will question the rightful owner of the art to verify that you have permission to edit the artwork. If found to not have permission, you will be reported to staff.
  5. As follow up on rule 4, the one that currently works on the art work must visibly notify others that the panel is being used. The simplest way to put up a sign at the entrance with your name.
  6. For any work that takes longer than two weeks to make, you must notify Rhyol. We want to make sure that you do not hinder others from working on their art as well.

Displays:[edit]

Mapart would not be fun without being able to show it to others! The player warp facilitates for this on a small scale and most original work can be found here, but other galleries have been set up in the meantime, also featuring the work of others that have not been made at our warp.

Up until this moment, these include:

- The Amethyst Gallery (Mapart gallery not yet finished, still, a great recommendation overall as the biggest museum for server artifacts up to date)

-Bennett's gallery (Small scale gallery that features artifacts as well)

- Smaller scale setups made by players before the start of this player warp back at around Christmas time 2022, have mostly been cleared or abandoned.

-Non-bound mapart setups, mostly temporary, made by users to get a better oversight over larger mapart works as our player warp limits space to not block too much of the map.

List of contributors:[edit]

The Mapart Station is obviously a big project. Even though a big majority has been constructed by me, without the efforts of other people, it would not have been of this quality. Therefore, I would like to give a special thanks to the people mentioned at the attribution. You can find this right at the spawn of the player warp and here as well:

  • Rhyol: Co-owner and founder. Built the majority of the mapart station.
  • El_o_l: Co-owner and main help with setting this up

  • S33R_of_PYR3: Helped with making the second platform

  • Ramsmiter
  • Jaq
  • Spunro
  • Zenf00

Mapart made by server members:[edit]

Of course, the Mapart Station would not be one if it were not for any mapart to be made there. Below you can find some mapart of fellow players. Feel free to add your own!

  • Polysexual Heart: Resembles a heart and is my first serious mapart. It describes my current sexuality.

  • Pride Hearts: My second work. Contains various common pride flags in heart shapes.

  • Mapart Advertisement: Advertisement I made for my mapart player warp. Was not too efficient, but it did work a little bit.
