Introducing Prism Party's Adopt-a-Base program!

Save a base today!

Can you believe that it's already been a year since the major Survival revamp and world reset? A lot has changed since then, and the server has grown considerably since its grand-reopening. So much so, that even with the border expanding with every Mojang update, finding places to build can still be a bit tough. That's why we're starting the Adopt-a-Base program.

Okay, the what now?

We get that not everybody who joins the server can play forever: Prism Party's running policy has been to save a backup of bases belonging to long-term inactive players (>3 months), before rolling back the area to it's naturally-generated state.

While this policy hasn't changed, we'd like to give our current community a chance to revitalize deserted structures, and to give new players an easier means of getting started, before the bases are wiped away. Before a base is erased, we'll post about it in the adopt-a-base channel of our Discord server and give the community a chance to take it over. (We'll also ping the original owner if their account is linked)

How it works

Any time staff come across an abandoned base, we'll take a screenshot of it and create a post in adopt-a-base under the "Expiring base" tag. From there, you can leave a reply with a bid, and after a week the player with the highest offer will get the full base, including all items within. Pretty simple, right?

That's not all this channel is useful for, though! We encourage players to make posts for any abandoned bases they may find in the world and tag it with "Base adoption". Posts created by players under this tag will be immediately transferred to the poster without a lengthy bid. This is especially useful for new players who might not have a lot of Gems to start out with.

All posting tags
Expiring bases
This tag is created by staff for Adopt-a-Base auctions. Players cannot use this tag, but you can always comment within a post under it.
After a week of bidding, the user with the highest bid will have the entire base, including items, transferred to them. If there aren't any bids, the base will be removed.
Base adoption
Posts in this tag can be made by both players and staff. These posts are for bases up for adoption when made by staff, or players requesting that an abandoned base be immediately transferred to them. If you find a base out in the wild that you're interested in, and the owner has been away for longer than 3 months according to /seen, create a post about it (with the coordinates) and let us know you want it!
Land restoration
Found an area of land that needs to be restored to its original, pristine, condition? Create a post with the coordinates here.
These areas can include abandoned bases, or structures (such as mansions or villages) that need to be restored. ...Or, just simple cases of desandified deserts and deforested forests.
Locked item transfers
If material goods are more your thing, you're free to request that the chests and items within abandoned bases be unlocked and transferred over to you. This is similar to the base adoption tag, but if you request an item transfer, the surrounding base will be removed after you reclaim all the items within.
After all, if you're claiming a base just for the items inside, we'd much rather you let us know so that we can free up space for others!
Base removal requests
Have a base or structure near you that you'd rather be removed outright? There's a tag for that. Sometimes neighbors move in and vanish, leaving you without room to build.
Here, you can request that we rollback these bases and builds, freeing up more space for you!
Base reclamation
This tag is for players who have had their bases adopted by others, or needs them to be restored if the base was removed. Since we create backups of every removed base, we can freely restore them if the original user requests it.
We can also move your base to a new location, if required. Keep in mind that in some cases, we may have to refuse reclamation requests if the new owner is still using the base.
Questions
For any questions, feel free to ask in community-help or under the Question tag. We're here to help!

Other information

That covers most of it! Of course, we have additional information in the Post Guidelines section of the new channel. Make sure to read through this channel and let us know your thoughts in a comment of this post!

We hope this change makes it easier for everyone to find a place to live, settle down, and build. Thank you all so much for playing on Prism Party, and we'll see you next week for our Pride Month celebrations!

With love, Prism Party.
