Guide:Connecting From Console

For most editions of Bedrock, connecting to Prism Party is as simple as adding play.prismparty.net to your Minecraft multiplayer server list. However, due to common console policy, users on these editions are only able to connect to Featured Servers to play Multiplayer; connecting to external servers is prohibited.

This guide will show two methods of bypassing this restriction and allow you to connect to any third-party Bedrock server, including Prism Party. Please note that none of the third-party tools listed on this page are endorsed by Prism Party or Microsoft. Prism Party and Microsoft cannot offer support on behalf of these tools.

After successfully connecting to Prism Party, you may also wish to link your Java and Bedrock accounts if you play both editions.

BedrockTogether

These steps require the use of an additional device connected to the same network as your console. These steps may not work for Nintendo Switch.

BedrockTogether is a free (ad-supported) app for iOS and Android that allows users to add valid third-party servers via a LAN connection on console editions.

1. Download the app for iOS or Android, and ensure your device is connected to the same internet network as the console you wish to play from.
2. Open the app and scroll to the bottom. Under the "Connect" section, add play.prismparty.net as the IP, and 19123 as the port.
3. Tap "Watch ad and run" to continue. On iOS, you may have to allow the app to find and connect to other devices on your network.
4. On your console, open Minecraft and browse to the multiplayer screen. A new LAN Game for "BedrockTogether" should appear. Connect to this server to join Prism Party. Please note that if the app is closed, your connection to the server will be interrupted.

DNS Modification

These steps require that you modify DNS settings on your console. Please take note of the original settings before proceeding with this guide. Specific steps may vary depending on your console and OS version.

If the above steps do not work for you, you can connect to third party servers using the BedrockConnect DNS. These steps are only recommended if the steps above do not work.

Nintendo Switch

1. From the home screen, navigate to System Settings.
2. Under Internet, open "Internet Settings" and select your current network. Select "Change settings".
3. Select "DNS Settings" and change the option to Manual.
4. Change Primary DNS to 104.238.130.180. Change Secondary DNS to 008.008.008.008. Save the new settings.
   • Should these settings not work, you may need to change the Primary DNS option to another address.
5. Open Minecraft and browse to the Servers tab. Connect to any featured server. You will be redirected to a new Server List menu where you can add third-party servers.
6. Select "Connect to a Server" and add play.prismparty.net as the server address, and 19123 as the port.
   • You may choose to add the server to your server list to make future connections easier.
7. Select "Submit". You should now be connected to Prism Party.

PlayStation

These steps were based on PlayStation 5. This guide works for previous generations, but the exact steps may differ.

1. From the home screen, navigate to Settings.
2. Under Network, browse to Settings, and open "Set Up Internet Connection". Hover over your connected network, and hit the "Options" button. Select "Advanced Settings".
3. Select "DNS Settings" and change the option to Manual.
4. Change Primary DNS to 173.82.100.84. Change Secondary DNS to 1.1.1.1. Save the new settings.
   • Should these settings not work, you may need to change the Primary DNS option to another address.
5. Open Minecraft and browse to the Servers tab. Connect to any featured server. You will be redirected to a new Server List menu where you can add third-party servers.
6. Select "Connect to a Server" and add play.prismparty.net as the server address, and 19123 as the port.
   • You may choose to add the server to your server list to make future connections easier.
7. Select "Submit". You should now be connected to Prism Party.

Xbox

1. From the home dashboard, press the Xbox button and navigate to Settings under the Profile & system tab.
2. Under General, navigate to Network settings. Select "Advanced settings".
3. Select "DNS Settings" and change the option to Manual.
4. Change Primary IPv4 DNS to 104.238.130.180. Change Secondary DNS to 8.8.8.8. Test the new settings and restart your console.
   • Should these settings not work, you may need to change the Primary DNS option to another address.
5. Open Minecraft and browse to the Servers tab. Connect to any featured server. You will be redirected to a new Server List menu where you can add third-party servers.
6. Select "Connect to a Server" and add play.prismparty.net as the server address, and 19123 as the port.
   • You may choose to add the server to your server list to make future connections easier.
7. Select "Submit". You should now be connected to Prism Party.
