The Economy is a core aspect of Prism Party's Survival experience. While players are free to play on Prism Party as they see fit—even ignoring all economy features if desired—most of the server's custom features tie into the server Economy to some degree. Nearly all player-facing features of the server—from claims to mob capturing—interface with the economy system of the server in some way.
Despite this, Prism Party maintains itself to avoid pay-to-win game mechanics. Prism Party's economy is based around a single, in-game, currency unit. The in-game currency of Prism Party cannot be bought 1:1 with real-world money, and thus is purely virtual. Likewise, Ranks on Prism Party do not automatically possess methods of obtaining in-game currency that are unavailable to free ranks on the server.
Prism Party is a non-competitive server. While players are encouraged to grow their wealth as part of engaging with the economy, there is no end-state: players cannot "win" by accumulating a higher balance than their piers, nor can they "lose" by running out. Furthermore, there is no official ranking; a higher balance affords users with more privilege than others on the server.
Gems[edit]
Instead of dollars, the virtual currency on Prism Party are called "Gems" (₲). Upon joining the server for the first time, all players start with an initial balance of ₲200. These Gems can be spent at leisure, but the primary focus for most new players—after setting up a base—should be to gather more wealth and get established within the server economy.
By collecting Gems, players can afford to trade items with other players, upgrade their Level, or buy claim blocks, to name a few examples. While playing on the server, players are expected to earn more Gems gradually over time as they improve at collecting resources and finding new ways of capitalizing on their progress.

Notes[edit]
- Gems do not have any real-world monetary value, and cannot be purchased directly by any means.
- The Gems currency symbol (₲) is borrowed from the Paraguayan guaraní.
