Below is the official Prism Party statement regarding taxes on the server. If you have less than $20,000 in your account on the server, taxes will not apply to you every Monday at 11:30am Pacific Time. Taxes apply to all players, including those offline. Before you consider putting all your money into claim blocks, the transfer rate is not 1:1, so buying 1 claim block for $1.00 will get you $0.75 if you sell it back.

In any of the text below, gems refer to the server's in game currency and is denoted above and below with a $ dollar sign.
The Economy is a core aspect of SITENAME's Survival experience. While players are free to play on SITENAME as they see fit—even ignoring all economy features if desired—most of the server's custom features tie into the server Economy to some degree. Nearly all player-facing features of the server—from claims to mob capturing—interface with the economy system of the server in some way.

Quote from Discord --- "
Despite this, SITENAME maintains itself to avoid pay-to-win game mechanics. SITENAME's economy is based around a single, in-game, currency unit. The in-game currency of SITENAME cannot be bought 1:1 with real-world money, and thus is purely virtual. Likewise, Ranks on SITENAME do not automatically possess methods of obtaining in-game currency that are unavailable to free ranks on the server.

The new tax system uses tax brackets, which work a lot like a measuring cup. If we need to add sugar for a cookie recipe, all we have to do is put the sugar into our measuring cup and scrape off the extra that the recipe doesn’t call for. Tax brackets don’t tax the money within their bracket, only the money after the given amount.
SITENAME is a non-competitive server. While players are encouraged to grow their wealth as part of engaging with the economy, there is no end-state: players cannot "win" by accumulating a higher balance than their piers, nor can they "lose" by running out. Furthermore, there is no official ranking; a higher balance affords users with more privilege than others on the server.

Imagine your Gems as the sugar in that measuring cup. Let’s say for argument that you have 10,000 Gems in the bank. If the tax bracket calls for 2% after 20,000 Gems, no taxes are taken out because you haven’t filled up the cup. Now let’s say you have 30,000 Gems. Under that same tax bracket, you have 10,000 Gems more than the bracket calls for, so only the extra, that 10,000 Gems, is taxed at 4%. That would mean taxes would take $400, leaving you with $29,600 gems after tax day.
Gems
Instead of dollars, the virtual currency on SITENAME are called "Gems" (₲). Upon joining the server for the first time, all players start with an initial balance of ₲200. These Gems can be spent at leisure, but the primary focus for most new players—after setting up a base—should be to gather more wealth and get established within the server economy.

" --- Pause Quote
By collecting Gems, players can afford to trade items with other players, upgrade their Level, or buy claim blocks, to name a few examples. While playing on the server, players are expected to earn more Gems gradually over time as they improve at collecting resources and finding new ways of capitalizing on their progress.
